BECOMING
We all have the right to be celebrated for who we are. We all have the right to be treated with respect and be given equal possibilities to express ourselves. The process of inclusion starts with a conscious desire of every member of the community to give space to others to grow. Felix Guattari and Gilles Deleuze wrote in A Thousand Plateaus that becoming is always minoritarian. Straight male gaze oriented society can change only from within by studying LGBT community history and struggles. It is only by walking in the shoes of those who were excluded and discriminated against we can become the society that provides equal opportunities to all of its members.
As a haiku poet I can best express this idea in a poem:
nameless
a stepped on flower
slowly reshapes itself
